Mind wandering during meditating is normal as our mind can think about many things daily. Many meditation coaches say that mind wandering is expected, which is correct for beginners and even some experienced people. But sometimes, we need to control our mind wandering once a person fears the future or fears Past events.

Meditation is a practical practice that allows you to focus on one or two things without wandering your mind for a while. When you start meditating even for 10 minutes each day, your mind has 10 minutes to practice focusing on a thing without mind wandering during meditation. So, your mind becomes habitual of concentrating on one thing rather than many. Meditation has a long-term effect on your body and mind. You will never regret investing 10 minutes for your mind’s peace. Meditation not only stops your mind wandering, but it improves your sleep, calmness, and focus. 

How to meditate: guide for beginners:

If you are a beginner in meditation and Yoga, you must find a quiet place to meditate for even 10 minutes. Once you have a calm place, the next thing is to sit cross-legged on the ground. If you have a problem with sitting cross-legged, you can even sit in a chair or lay on the bed. It would help to take a deep breath while counting 1, 2, 3. Hold your breath while counting to 3. Now exhale the breath while counting 3.

After a few minutes of meditation, your mind will start wondering what is expected. You need to get back your attention on breathing. The main goal of meditation is to get your attention back to things that matter to you, which helps you be kind to yourself and know yourself better. How does your mind behave when you are feeling down? Then, control your breathing and get back to the present status. Getting back is important because if you stay in negative thoughts for longer, you will start becoming patient with depression and anxiety.
